Adria Demont Smith

On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, Adria Demont Smith (lovingly known as Black) answered the call of his guardian angel to “enter a place of safety, peace, and joy”.

Adria was born June 28, 1975 to Don and Agnes Stafford. He was educated in Robeson County Public Schools and graduated from South Robeson High School in Rowland N.C. He attended St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Rowland, NC, in his early years. Later in life he attended St. Matthews AME Church in Elrond N.C. where he became a member and gave his life to Christ.

Adria worked various jobs;  he had a love of landscaping and washing cars, but enjoyed helping people in the neighborhood. He was a firm believer that “if your ride is fresh and clean it would ride better.” He loved to dress up and smell good for the ladies once he topped off with his outfit with his shades. You couldn’t tell him a thing… Dapper he was!

Adria was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Annie Mae, Alford Williams, maternal grandparents Annie Lee and John Smith; his crew: Eugene Stafford, Pasty Reaves, Kiara Jasper, and John McDaniel; a host of aunts, and uncles.

Adria leaves to cherish his beautiful memories: one daughter, Ladasia Fletcher; His loving parents: Don and Agnes Stafford, of Rowland NC,  one grandson, Mason Fletcher;  one brother, Allen Smith (Dee-Dee) Raleigh, NC; one sister, Qiana Davis of Paterson, NJ; and his grandmother, Annie Wallace of Paterson, NJ. Aunts: Mable Smith, Tammer Lee Stanford, Helen Reaves (Bobby), Ella Mae Williams, Deborah Williams all of Rowland NC, Elizabeth Adams (Carl Joe); Everlean Thompson of Rowland, NC; Annie Lou Vanderhall (Charlie) of Maxton, NC; Dorothy Taylor and Rosena Odom of Paterson, NJ; and Corrine Oliver of Fairmont, NC. Uncles: James Elvis Williams of Winston Salem, NC; Earl Smith (Jewel) and HP Smith (Hilda), both of Greensboro, NC. Nieces: Michelle Troy, Aniyah Smith, Naomi Estrella, Paola Rivera Nephews: Camelle Williams and Taleon Quick. Special Cousins and Friends: Brittany Williams, Erika McInnis, Kevarus Williams, Jawayne Williams, Germaine Smith, Terry Jones, Vashon Williams, Mrs. Lizzie, Bobby Reaves, Cool C, Regina Reaves,  Jeffery Thompson, Crystal Caple,  Karen Smith, Shawa Gause, Saundra Leach, Adrian Foxx Smith, host of other relatives and friends.
