Geraldine McKinnon transitioned from labor to reward on August 12, 2019.

Geraldine was born to the late John Lewis McKinnon and Clara Carmichael McKinnon on June 29, 1955. In 1974, Geraldine graduated from Lumberton Senior High School in Lumberton, North Carolina. She was a member of Chrysolite AME Zion Church. She loved working with the choir, children, tutoring. Let us not forget the World’s Biggest Babysitter, and always, the Cool Aunt! Out of all these, her greatest love was for her little loves. She gave unselfishly of herself and provided exceptional care for them.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, two sisters: Belinda and Patricia McKinnon, and one brother, Patrick McKinnon.
Left to cherish her memories are: Two sisters Jacqueline Crawford and Cynthia McKinnon, both of Lumberton NC; one brother, Ricky McKinnon (Lolita) of Lumberton, NC; three aunts: Odessa Troy, Mary (Moses) Ford, Louise (Tommie) Leake, Katie (Calvin) Baxter, all of Lumberton and Betty McDougald (Philip) of Philadelphia, PA; two uncles: JD (Debra) Carmichael and Levner McKinnon, both of Lumberton, NC; a very special friend, Sterling Gray of Baltimore, MD; A special friend, nurse, and best caregiver of 18 years, Mr. Jamie Locklear of Lumberton, NC; Honorary Parents, Mr. Carl and Sadie Thompson of Lumberton NC; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends.
