Welcome to the memorial page for

Beatrice McKoy Leggett

June 9, 1933 ~ October 16, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Beatrice McKoy Leggett took flight on the wings of a snow-white dove and left her earthly home for a heavenly home on October 16, 2017.

Beatrice was born to  late Frank McKoy and late Corneila Baker on June 9, 1933. In 1953 Beatrice graduated from Southside High School in Rowland NC. She began working at Southeastern Regional Hospital on October 15, 1954, the exact day Hurricane Hazel hit North Carolina. The following year she married the love of her life, the late Wilbert Leggett; they were married for 46 years.

Beatrice began her walk with Christ in the early 1970s. After learning more about the bible, she was added to the body of Christ where she was an active member until her health declined.

In 2004 Beatrice retired from the hospital after working 50 years. She holds the record for the longest continuous service at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Beatrice was passionate about caring for others. She gave unselfishly of herself and provided exceptional care for the loves of her life, her children and grandchildren. She has created innumerable memories with them that they all will forever cherish in their hearts. She desired the absolute best for them and worked diligently to foster their every need.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, a sister, three brothers, her husband, Wilbert Leggett, her son, Michael Leggett, a son-in-love, Frankie Patterson, and a sister-in-love, Clara McKinnon.

Left to cherish her memories are: her children, Patricia (Harold) Parks of Raleigh, NC, Charles Leggett of Baltimore, MD, Linda Sandle of Raleigh, NC, Sharon Patterson of Fayetteville, NC, Peggy Leggett of Lumberton, NC and David  (Anita) Leggett of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Patrick (April) Parks, Ian Parks, Charles Leggett, Karen Leggett, Frankie  Patterson Kierra Leggett, Michaela Leggett, and Marshall Leggett; three great-grandchildren; One Sister Ella Mobley of Newark NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
