THE OBITUARY

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. MATTHEW 5:16 KJV

James Oliton Jones Sr. was born in Hoke County, North Carolina on November 14, 1945 to the late Claude and Sernella Jones. He attended Hoke County Schools and graduated from Anne Chestnut High School. In December 1969, he married his loving wife Jessie Cogdell Jones. He worked in a variety of occupations until joining Frito Lay in Fayetteville, where he retired in 2005. When you saw James Jones he was always with his loving wife of 52 years, holding her pocketbook, when they were out shopping or just out to eat. He always had a smile for whomever he would meet. If they needed encouragement, he always had a word to give them. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, when they called for help. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jessie Jones of the home; one brother, Johnny (Thelma) Jones of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven children, Sonya (Clarence) Comber III of Hope Mills, N.C., Kimbrella (Patrick) Gaddy of Fayetteville, N.C., LaTarsha (Michael) Mclean of Fayetteville, N.C., James (La’Neisha) Jones Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Twanna Haynes of Fayetteville, N.C., Julia (Keith) Gilliam of Fayetteville, N.C., and Stephen Jones of the home; one adopted daughter, Velma Owens of Hope Mills, N.C.; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
