Jessie Crump Obituary

Elder Jessie Baldwin Crump, took flight on the wings of a snow-white dove and left his earthly home for a heavenly home on October 7, 2019 at Southeastern Regional Medical Hospital. Born on January 11, 1949 in Lumberton, NC , he was the son of the late James and Dorothy Crump. He later united in marriage to his best friend and the love of his life, Mother Sarah Pittman Crump, on December 5, 1970. He was a dedicated husband,  father, and church member who loved telling people about Emmanuel.

Jessie began his walk with Christ in the early 1960s at St. Mary Holiness Church.  After learning more about the bible, he was added to the body of Christ where he became an active member until his health declined. He served in multiple capacities as: a member of the male chorus, assistant superintendent, Sunday school teacher, vice president of the usher board, vice chairman deacon, and an ordained Elder Jessie was employed by Converse where he was             responsible for press foreman for 21 years. After his tenure at Converse, he became a dedicated porter at Farm        Bureau for 18 years.

 

Jessie was passionate about caring for others. He gave unselfishly of himself and provided exceptional care for the loves of his life, his children and grandchildren. He has created innumerable memories with them that they all will forever cherish in their hearts. He desired the absolute best for them and worked diligently to foster their every need.

Jessie is preceded in death by: his parents and two brothers: David and Ralph Crump.


He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mother Sarah Pittman Crump; one son John (Kimberly) Crump; one daughter Aretha (Ronald) Russell; two grandsons, Je’Vante Crump and  Maalik Crump; two great grand daughters: Nevaeh Crump and Ailani Crump, all of Winston Salem, NC; four brothers James Willie Crump of Safety Harbor, Florida, Horace (Sally) Crump of Birmingham Alabama. Bruce (Donna) Crump, Harold Crump of Tallahassee,     Florida; four sisters: Alean Union of Raleigh, NC, Helen Crump, Joan Primus and LeJune (Tony) Jamison, all of    Tallahassee, Florida; Mother-in-law: Nolan Pittman of Wilmington NC; Five sisters-in-law: Ollie Crump of Safety Harbor, Florida, Paula (Timothy) Moore, Leisha (Lawrence) Johnson, Retha (John) Carr, all of Wilmington, NC; two brothers-in-law: Dorian Pittman and Alden Pittman; three special nephews: Benjamin Crump, Vincent Crump and Darren Crump, all of Tallahassee, Florida; three special cousins: Alexander Crump, Gladys Paul, James Thomas; a childhood friend: Monroe Sinclair, a host of nieces, nephews, friends,
