Tamara Simone Smith, age 35, fell asleep peacefully on June 28, 2024, at 8:02 PM at Southeastern Health. Born on April 13, 1989, in Lumberton, North Carolina, Tamara was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Tamara's love for her family and her significant other was evident in every aspect of her life. With a beautiful soul, she was humble, full of laughter, and possessed a smile that could light up any room. Truly the life of the party, Tamara's intelligence and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She had a passion for fishing, watching documentaries, and true crime shows, but above all, she cherished spending time with her loved ones.
Tamara was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mr. David Lee Smith; her cousin, Shemeka Regan; and her uncle, James Haywood Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Tammy Smith; her father, Simeon McMillian; her brother, Johntan Smith; her very special friend, Shannon Santee; special father figure, Fred Reginald Kemp and Cedrick Young; extended family, Keith, Jasmine, and Gabrielle Goolsarran her grandmother, Miss Maggie Smith; six uncles, Shawn Smith (Juanita), Ricky Smith, Wayne Smith (Paula), Wendell Smith, Charles Smith, and David Smith (Jeanette), all of Lumberton, North Carolina; four aunts, Doris Baxley (Thomas), Saundra Smith, Sarah Regan, and Lee Moore, all of Lumberton, North Carolina; a host of cousins; and best friends, Monica Baxley, Tony, Kim, and Alian Garcia.
